KASKO Zwolle Paradise Circus Love

Paradise Circus Love explores the relationship between five characters and sex work. One imagines himself as the new “Gay Jesus Christ, saviour of sinners,” while another can no longer distinguish between his private life and his profession.

Often referred to as “the world’s oldest profession,” sex work remains hidden beneath layers of taboo, misunderstanding, and social stigma. Yet it is far more complex than common stereotypes suggest. It responds to deeply rooted desires and honours intimate needs that might otherwise remain unseen—feelings that underpin much of human behaviour and connection.

Vulnerable, raw, and unsettling.

Through a combination of dance, music, and text, Paradise Circus Love guides audiences through the many dimensions of intimacy. The work questions the boundaries between authentic self-expression and professional performance, asking: how much space exists between being yourself and simply doing your job?
